Practising the
timeless way
A building lasts when it stops trying to be new.

Each of these was drawn for one plot and one brief, and redrawn until it fitted both. Where the place offered a material, the building used it: quartzite rubble in Greater Noida, the hillside’s own stone at Chakrata. Nothing was spent that the brief did not need, and the detail was carried to the last joint on site. Each was drawn for one plot and one brief, and redrawn until it fitted both.
Start with SenguptaThe building is made from its drawings, so that is where it gets decided.
Design, as the studio practises it, is the repeated fitting of a form to what is already there: a slope, a boundary, a climate and the people who will use it. It goes on until every conflict between them is settled on paper, where a mistake still costs only an eraser.
When the plan moves, the section and the approach move with it, so each iteration redraws the whole building. Held on one sheet frame, the grid stays put and only the design moves.

A small studio, drawn in full
We are interested in buildings that are worth the material they take. Every project is carried from the first site visit to the last: concept, design, construction documentation, and on site until it is built.
The studio takes any programme that lets it work this way: a school, a hospital, a hill resort, a public building, or a house.
Meet the peopleThe first conversation
Every enquiry, a project or a job, reaches one inbox and is answered by a person, usually within two working days.
- A project
- The site or the city it is in, what you want to build, and when you need to be in it.
- A job
- A portfolio link rather than an attachment, and two drawings in it that you drew alone.
